Mid-America Speedway 2016 Schedule Announced

Press release for immediate release

Indianapolis, IN. – April 12, 2016 – Mid-America Speedway in Indianapolis would like to

announce their new schedule for the 2016 season, which will kick off later this month with the first

event of the season on Saturday, April 30 with the spring opener (rain date is Sat., May 7) and the

official season opening race on Saturday, June 4, the Flat-Track Forums Race. Mid-America

Speedway will be hosting and supporting a total of 16 races throughout the 2016 season.

Track president and race promoter Jim Terchila and his crew will preside over the racing action at the

Marion County Fairgrounds-hosted track, located on Indy's southeast side. “We're looking forward to

what will be our ninth year in the new season ahead, and this season again will include our regularly

scheduled regional events to go along with what will be our fourth year of hosting the AMA Vintage Dirt

Track National Championship Series sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Bloomington, IN. This

year's event will be a first for Mid-America as we will be hosting a doubleheader round which will be

held on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13,” stated Terchila.

“We will also be hosting round 2 of the USA vs Canada Speedway Invitational race on August 13 that

we are currently working on getting an FIM sanction for. Round 1 is scheduled to be held in

Welland, Ontario Canada on July 9 and we have approximately 15 racers from Canada, New York

State and the Midwest who are commited to race our event. The winner from each of those rounds will

take home $1K.

“We've had a great run at the Marion County Fairgrounds and our hats are off to them for what we have

been able to do over the years here,” continued the track's president and promoter. “One of our popular

events is the annual Marion County Fair race, this year being held on Satuday, June 18 and this will be

our 10th fair race, which really got us going to eventually provide us our home here.

“We would also like to remind everyone about our season-ending Halloween race, one of the best-

attended events of each of our years here at the fairgrounds,” said Terchila in closing. “Traditionally this

has been our 2nd-biggest event each year and it includes costumes and a 25-lap Open Bike Class main

event that pays a minimum of $500 to win. This year's season finale will be held on Saturday, October

29 and will be sponsored by Jackson Oil and Solvents. We wouldn't be able to do any of this if it weren't

for some of the best sponsors, racers and fans in the country that attend our events, so without a doubt

we tip our hats and helmets to all that make it all possible for everyone here at Mid-America Speedway.”
