Season Finale Round 13 of the 2013 AMA Pro Flat Track presented by J&P Cycles Grand National Championship Season Coming Down at Pomona Half-Mile on October 12

Round 13 of the 2013 AMA Pro Flat Track presented by J&P Cycles Grand National Championship season is just around the corner as the riders, teams, sponsors and fans will be converging at the Pomona Fairplex this Saturday, October 12 for what is surely to play out as one heckuva finale for the championship battle at hand.

The three riders left in the hunt for the AMA Grand National Championship, Brad Baker, Bryan Smith and Brandon Robinson will be battling it out on the half-mile in Pomona to earn the honors of carrying that coveted #1 plate on the front of their motorcycles and the back of their leathers for the 2014 season.

In the shot above, Jared Mees on the #1 Rogers Racing/Blue Springs-sponsored H-D XR750 leads Jake Johnson on the #5 Lloyd Brothers Motorsports/Ramspur Winery-backed Ducati, Jake Shoemaker on the #55A Montgomeryville Cycle Center/Motion Pro-sponsored Kawasaki and Rob Pearson on the #27 Weirbach Racing/KDM Forest Products-sponsored XR750 during heat race #3 action at the Springfield Mile I on August 31, 2013.

Mees, who captured the 2012 AMA Grand National Championship in grand style at the Pomona season-ender in October of 2012, was mathematically eliminated after round 12 at the Santa Rosa Mile back on September 29, but will surely be looking to go out with a big bang after the stellar, but up and down season he suffered during his 2013 campaign.

Pomona, which will host the season finale for AMA Pro Flat Track for the fourth time in the last five seasons, is again being promoted by the fine folks from Circle Bell Motorsports, led by Bob Bellino, one of the finest and best promoters in the business of putting on top-end entertainment on the west coast.  Bellino and the group of folks at CBM have been promoting events for The Rolling Thunder Show for years now, and always put on the best of shows for the fans on-hand.  If you are planning on being in the area, you owe it to yourself to check this one out!

Just three days remain until the Law Tigers AMA Pro Flat Track Finals, brought to you locally by Pomona Valley Harley-Davidson and Glendale Harley-Davidson, thunders off the startline, at the Fairplex.

Coming into Pomona, Brad Baker is leading the field by a mere 11 points. A resident of Dryad, Wash, Baker has been on top all season long. Earning 5 podium finishes and four top 10's, Baker would like nothing more than to emerge as this year's Grand National Champion. However, he is going to have to battle both Bryan Smith and Brandon Robinson who are very much in contention for winning.

And these are only three of the competitors in this, the final race of the year.  Add names like reigning champion Jared Mees, last year's Pomona winner Kenny Coolbeth, Jr., Sammy Halbert, Henry Wiles, Jake Johnson,  Briar Bauman, Steve Bonsey and a host of others, the theme will definitely be an evening of ground pumping, non-stop action. Not only does this race pit rider against rider, but it also pits machine against machine. Back in the 1950's Harley-Davidson battled BSA, Triumph and Indian.  Today, eligible bikes include Aprilia, BMW, Harley-Davidson, Buell, Ducati, Honda, KTM, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha.

Adding more action, will be the inaugural Super Long Track Speedway Bike Invitational. The exhibition from 2012 was a fan favorite, so it has been brought it back as a thrilling addition to the evening's schedule, complete with heats and a Main.

And that is not all.  Scheduled from 3-6pm is the Gasser Customs Vintage Ride-In and Show & Shine. Ride your vintage bike and enjoy free parking right in front plus take part in the vintage bike show! Awards will be given for the best of the best but all bikes in any shape or condition are welcome to participate. If you enjoy vintage bikes, you will want to see this show.

Another highlight will be the Ascot Reunion which will take place inside the gates to the event near the Legends Autograph section from 3:30-6:30pm. Come out and see some bikes from the ASCOT era, meet and hear stories by the riders who made ASCOT.

Come early and hear the live music, visit the vendor's area and watch practice.  It will definitely be a day to remember and the event not to be missed.
